As I write, it is Sunday January 160122 and I have had a very pleasant & good Sunday. I did get up very late this morning (& I blamed that on my fitbit wrist watch, as when I woke initially, it indicated it was 0800hrs & then I carried on snoozing & when I next tried it it indicated no time, as it was out of battery charge, so I stayed in bed!). When I finally woke it was late so I put a teapot on brewing & went to the shop for milk & some other shopping.
On my return from shopping, the tea was brewed & ready & with the milk now, I made a lovely cup of tea & also made a slice of toast with strawberry jam (Tiptree). My other half had already had her toast while I was out! Both of us then made a partidge casserole & drove out to Thorpe woods for an afternoon walk. This was our first visit there & it was a very enjoyable walk, where we stopped halfway for coffee from our thermos & a satsuma. On our return home I made us tea & toasted fruit bread slices & the casserole is ready for tonight’s dinner.
This is the second consecutive good weekend walk for us both this month & is definitely a high. Being together in the woods & sharing the experience of nature all round is a good experience!
As for the lows of this month so far, there really is not much to mention thankfully. Better health all round & conquering CoVid & to finish my project (that remains nameless & unmentionable) are a few minor issues, but these will all be fixed in time! Another high to mention from last week was the time I spent looking after our grandson Rex & this, allowing Lizzie & Hilary to do some wedding preperation shopping together.
As ever, there are many odd issues affecting the wider world (PM B Johnson & party lying & apologising, tennis player Novak Jokavic refusing CoVid vaccination, so not being allowed into Australia to play & clearly there is far too much bad stuff still happening regularly, eg crime & wars & poverty & inequality etc. Let us try to help the needs of others & not just our own needs where we can & we will make a difference!).
Have a great week ahead & make the most of this month! đ
