Arrivederci amici

Over the last 11 days, Hilary and I have had 2 fine Italian students staying with us and we are now sadly saying goodbye to them, Alan and Andrea.

Alan and Andrea arrived from near Milan to stay with us here and have been attending BLS in Bury St Edmunds. Their stay coincided with Hilary taking our daughter Lizzie up to Edinburgh university to start her degree course and while Hilary & I are busy clearing my mum’s house in Brantham, the sale of which completes this Friday!

They have been perfect guests, fitting in well to our crowded home, that is crammed full of “stuff” presently which we have brought over from mum’s house and that will require sorting and storing or selling as appropriate. Their English speaking is very good and while Hilary & I have both been at work while they have been with us and very busy with the house clearance and the trip to Edinburgh away for Hilary, they have experienced typical English customs, such as fish and chips and rain! They even have had some sunshine in their first week here!

A highlight for Hilary and I, was when they cooked us traditional Italian pasta which was delicious and they enjoyed the change from the English potato that was part of the meals they had with us!
