Welcome to my WordPress page.
I have been learning about WordPress since starting this blog and I want to share my WordPress experiences here. WordPress is I feel a good blogging and CMS web technology and there are many millions of websites using WordPress. That has to be a great endorsement!
See anIMass live demo at http://onlinewpthemetest.richard-dickinson.com/
I have a lot of WordPress information to share so I have put up this page (and IÂ may later show this on a seperate website).
For now I want to share my own newly created free WordPress theme named anIMass. It is designed for Internet Marketing but is flexible and can easily be used for other purposes.
UPDATE_
I am currently editing anIMass to enable it to be added to WordPress Themes Directory
This will be anIMass version3 and I will post a DL link as soon as anIMass v3 is ready! -soon hopefully!!

My first WordPress theme anIMass is available for download at the WordPress theme directory
at: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/animass
Download and enjoy. If you get any problems or want any advice do let me know.
I’m using your theme for one of my friends site and looking to see how to remove date/author from post. I’ve done this in many other themes but you’ve hidden this somewhere in your code. Usually i find it in the index.php in loop. Where have you hidden this so I can save the rest of my hair? Thanks for the info. Took me about a day to remove image on right side – completed that step.
Hi Michael
Thanks for your enquiry and I hope you manage to edit anIMass theme (seems like you are having success).
To help you, anIMass theme WP code is largely based on TwentyTen WP theme code. I personally haven’t tried removing date/author from posts but you should be able to do this by editing metadata entry in the stylesheet. Try editing to this:
.entry-meta {
display:none;
}
That should work (I hope!-I actually haven’t tried it yet myself!). Well goodluck & thanks for your feedback and HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
(If it doesn’t work or you need more help do let me know
)
Hello Richard,
I like the look of your theme. It is the current theme for my website, but how do I get into the admin section to create more posts. As it is, I can only leave replys.
Also do you have any notes for making the best use of your theme?
Hi Gloria Anne
Thanks for your note about anIMass wordpress theme and I’m pleased you like it and use it for your site.
I have visited your site and can see your ‘Hello World’ first post made on Jan 9 2011. To make that first post you must have had access to the admin dashboard page so I guess you now have a problem getting back to the admin page.
I hope I can guide you back to the admin dashboard and there are 2 ways I know to get access to it.
1. First way is that underneath the post you should see a hyperlink ‘Edit’. Simply clicking on that should take you to the admin page & from there you go to ‘Posts’ > ‘Add New’ and click on that link and you can make your new post from there!
2. Second way is to type in your browser address bar at the end of your address: ‘wp-admin’ (without quotes!).
For you, this would be…. http://freetithe.com/fforestsfancies/wp-admin
Then when you refresh the browser page a new page may open asking you for your user name and password and after you enter those the admin page will be accessible and as in step 1 you go to ‘Posts’ > ‘Add New’ and add your post.
(If you have saved your username & password in the browser cache the admin page should open directly without the page for verifying username and password appearing).
This should work! Use whichever method you prefer (why not try both!?).
I hope I have explained it clearly enough and I wish you success in editing the theme!
Tips on using the theme briefly are to change the ‘About You’ image in the sidebar to any image that you wish to describe either you or the site. You can change the header to any I included if they are suitable or upload your own header and you can change the background image or colour to your preference. This can easily be done from the admin page (assuming you can now get to the admin page-which hopefully you can now!).
Then you can add any number of plugins and widgets to the sidebar and the theme. One of the strengths of WordPress and themes is they are highly customisable for your uses! anIMass theme can be set up for whatever you want to use it for eg blogging or internet marketing or journal or forum or photo gallery etc etc.
Once you know what your site is for, you will know what customisations to make to make it suitable for whatever its purpose is!
Anyway I hope this reply has helped you (or if you need further advice do ask again).
Thanks and best wishes
Richard
Hi Richard,
I love this theme and am having alot of success with my blog. But today I upgraded to the next version of your theme, and those pictures came back on the side bar. so I right clicked, and lost ALL of the images (I think I chose delete images…) I lost my pic, the blue/green images, and the header image that made my blog beautiful. do you know how I can restore them without losing the content of my blog? Thanks!
Diane
Here is the copy of my email to you today-I hope you received it & this is a help!

Hi Diane
Thanks for your blog comment & I am pleased you have had success with anIMass theme so far and sympathise with your problem after upgrade!
I hope you have copies of your header, pic, and bluegreen images saved somewhere? If you have copies then it should not be hard to restore them.
However if you don’t have copies of the images then this can’t be done I am afraid.
When the new version is installed I’m sure it overwrites the old version including images (afaik).
The best thing to do is always to make a backup of your WordPress data and theme and save it somewhere safe so it can be reused if ever you suffer a problem (crash etc). This is too late to help now after the upgrade you have done with anIMass but I recommend you look into backing up your WP data & theme. It isn’t difficult to do and there are several ways to do it (here is a link to one article giving some idea: http://www.vooshthemes.com/blog/wordpress/easily-complete-a-wordpress-backup-in-less-than-5-minutes/
otherwise just google it yourself and check out backingup WordPress!).
Now assuming you have copies of the images here is how to restore them.
Your header image should be named header.jpg and needs to be saved in anIMass folder animass>images>headers directory
(anIMass theme folder is found in WordPress folder on your Server ie wordpress >wp-content>themes>animass directory).
If you can copy your header image into anIMass headers folder/directory then it will automatically overwrite the sea/sunset default header anIMass has and this will display your header image on your blog. It should be size 860×162 to fit exactly-use any graphic image editor eg Paint/Gimp/PSP/Photoshop etc to adjust to this size if needed).
The other images need to be placed as jpegs (.jpg) in the images folder in anIMass theme folder and you need to edit the sidebar.php template to remove the anIMass default sidebar images and replace with your pic.jpg & blue green images.jpg. You can edit anIMass sidebar.php template direct from admin dashboard page Appearance>Editor>Sidebar.php.
Presumably you did these steps to put your images to anIMass theme original version unless someone else did it for you?
Anyway I hope this has been of help to you and I wish you luck in restoring your images to anIMass theme. I am sure you will succeed! If my reply hasn’t been clear or you need any extra advice do let me know again-goodluck & best wishes!
Richard
